Success with Kinect on the Xbox, Microsoft continues to declare future technologies that could be used to make gaming become something different. Now it seems they're researching 3D projector technology.
This technology is believed to be able to be combined with the Kinect to display on the wall of game players. This patent has been filed since March 2011, and it was discovered and reported this week by the site PatentlyApple.com.
For gamers who've seen Prometheus the movie, will probably understand this technology. In this film a lot of visual display 3D projectors are used.
One of the most fantastic is when Weyland owner introduced himself to the 17 man crew. In the background of the owner of the visible landscape of the earth that appear neatly. The owner is also able to walk to the front and looked like there was in sight.
Now Microsoft's technology will look almost like background. Players will feel like him not in the room, but it seemed to 'enter' into the game. What is meant 3D by Microsoft, may not be a true 3D that requires glasses or the like. But more emphasis on the display left and right, and in front of the player that will display images (image) of the game to be played.
Many speculate the technology is still far from perfect by Microsoft. The news of the new Xbox 720 will hit the market in 2013, likely will not include this technology. The news about Kinect 2 also provoke speculation as to what will be, and the possibility of 3D projectors adopted into it.
But if Microsoft managed to implement this technology, the gaming world would obviously much different. And we can be sure a future Xbox will be bright, and the prediction that the console will be dashed to death already.
